I just received this great video from one of our customers driving his RENNTECH E55 AMG to a very quick 11.21 second quarter-mile.

The timeslip is posted on Dragtimes. Enjoy!

RENNTECH C63 | 11.654

Last week, some of our RENNTECH customers spent some time running a pair of RENNTECH-tuned AMGs down Palm Beach International's new 1/4 mile drag strip - and the results were impressive: an 11.654 time at over 120.70 mph on Nitto Invo street tires!

Watch for the timeslip below to get posted on to Dragtimes in the coming days, as well as slips from the E55 AMG that came along, and was kind enough to take some pics for us.

CLK63 AMG CABRIO | EXHAUST

RENNTECH has just put the finishing touches on a new exhaust system for the Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Cabrio. The single-out exhaust for this car (and the previous CLK55 AMG) was never a fan-favorite, but with RENNTECH's new sound-pipe and deep, muscle-car growl, it soon will be!

Click the link, turn up the speakers, and enjoy.

NEW SL65 VIDEO FROM UP.TV

UP.TV (no idea) just posted a new video of the SL65 Black Series AMG ultra high-performance coupe. The video itself looks very similar to what Mercedes itself sent to the press a few months ago (HERE), but at least it's in English!

We're eagerly awaiting the first one of these to arrive at RENNTECH - we expect big things from this car. Big things.

HAMMERTIME: AUTOFIENDS

--- from Autofiends, CLICK HERE for the original article.

With Hartmut/RENNTECH's close ties to AMG and the role he plays in the American chapter of AMG lore, I thought this 'Fiends article might be very appropriate on the RENNTECH news blog.

For those not "in the know", AMG's Hammer was a run-of-the-mill 300E with a 5.6-liter 4 valve V8 under its hood. This combination could achieve 60 mph in a tick over 5 seconds, run the quarter-mile in 13.5 seconds on its way to a terminal velocity of 186 mph - faster than the contemporary Porsche 928, Aston Vantage, Ferrari Testarossa, and Lambo Countach ... and AMG's Hammer started every time.

WORLDCARFANS CATCHES 2010 E63

--- from WorldCarFans, CLICK HERE for original article.

MB's E63 AMG is still under development according to these latest spy shots taken by WCF's photographers at the Nurburgring. It still carries a good bit of camo, but there won't be many surprises in the styling department after Mercedes' Concept FASCINATION reveal (covered HERE).

We'll have to wait and see what changes AMG have made to the E's running gear.

SLC SPY PHOTO GALLERY

From LeftLaneNews, CLICK HERE for original article and (comprehensive) photo gallery.

Left Lane News has put together a pretty comprehensive photo gallery of all the SLC spy pics Brenda Priddy and Co. have caught over the past 11 months. There are quite a few excellent shots I hadn't seen before, including the video link (above).

Enjoy!

NEW SLC SPY SHOTS

From WorldCarFans, CLICK HERE for original article.

About a year after the first sightings of the C197 (a hastily-built machine that looked for all the world like a Dodge Viper mule) the spy guys at WCF have spotted what looks to be a real, dedicated C197 chassis. The upcoming car has been referred to as the new Gullwing, but expected to carry and "SLC" label.

Expect to see "AMG" or "HWA" on the car as well, with a "RENNtech" version following shortly thereafter.

SL65 BLACK SERIES AT N-RING

--- from CarZi, CLICK HERE for original article.

CarZi posted these great pics of what appears to be an SL65 mule lapping the 'ring. No word on times - but (with 661 hp and 738 ft-lb of torque) they should be fairly strong!

2010 E63 AMG CAUGHT TESTING

Edmunds.com recently posted video of what appears to be an E63 mule outside of the Nurburgring. The narrator speculates a bit as to what engine is underhood during the video, but comments on the Edmunds site about a supercharged version of the 6.3 AMG engine are probably unwarranted.

RENNTECH REMOTE LOWERING MODULE

RENNTECH has updated its multi-processor digital lowering module to make installation and adjustment quicker and easier, with a unique, full-featured remote control.

"This lowering module was all-new in February already," says Hartmut Feyhl, RENNTECH's president and ex technical director at AMG North America. "As always, the module is 100% digital and fully adjustable, with the same microprocessors to communicate with the car's electronics. With the remote control, we have added functions like speed control settings, and the display has made fine adjustments easier."

RENNTCH’s digital lowering module continues to offer individual adjustment for each of the car's four wheels, along with updated processors and the ability to set different heights for different speeds, a check for the latest hardware and firmware versions, and more - with an easy-to-use graphic user interface that works like your favorite MP3 player.

The new, remote-ready digital lowering module is available for all Mercedes-Benz and AMG models with ABC or Airmatic air suspension.

The newest photo set added to RENNTECH's Flickr site features a 2008 S65 fitted with RENNTECH 20" Signature series 3 pc. performance wheels. This was the first chance I had to take some good shots of these wheels on a Diseno White 221 S class, and they look gorgeous.

SL65 BLACK SERIES DEBUT

Last night, the Autoblog posted MB's press release announcing the official release of the SL65 AMG Black Series (pictured, above). Their post is quoted below; CLICK HERE to see the original Autoblog post (incl. hi-res photo gallery).

After months of spy shots and speculation, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series is finally out in the open. And with a $320,000 price tag, a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 and only 200 units on their way to the U.S., it's a serious stopgap between the deceased SLR and Mercedes' 2011 SLC gullwing supercar.

Mercedes' in-house tuners applied their tried and true philosophy to the SL65 AMG Black Series, beginning with a carbon fiber hood, fenders and trunk, along with nixing the retractable hard top in favor of a fixed carbon fiber roof with an integrated roll cage. As such, the Black is 550 pounds lighter than the stock SL65, coming in at 4,122 pounds.

Seven vents – three in the bumper, two on the hood and two in the fenders – feed copious quantities of air to the 6.0-liter V12, fitted with a duo of upgraded turbochargers. Power is up to 661 hp available at 5,400 rpm, while torque remains the same at 738 lb.-ft. With a five-speed automatic gearbox equipped with AMG's speedshift software, the Black can hit 60 mph in 3.9 seconds on its way to a gearing-limited top speed of 199 mph.

Expect the SL65 AMG Black Series to debut in Paris, with sales beginning in the U.S. early next year.
