RENNTECH TURNS 20 | PART 1

AMG Hammer, c. 1989

RENNTECH E63 AMG, c. 2009

Welcome to 2009, everyone! I've been on vacation this past week, so this is the first official RENNTECH blog post of 2009.

We had a very successful 2008, winning the Mercedes-Benz GLK tuner build-off at SEMA, introducing a new website in July, welcoming new dealers to the fold, and more! All the same, 2009 is going to be EVEN BETTER ...

2009 marks RENNTECH's 20th year in business - and we'll be hosting a few events and launching a few new models in the coming months to celebrate the last 20 years, and also to take a look back at some of the projects that have established RENNTECH as the world's premier Mercedes-Benz performance tuner.

Thank you for visiting our site and - from everyone at RENNTECH - have a happy new year!

HAMMERTIME: AUTOFIENDS

--- from Autofiends, CLICK HERE for the original article.

With Hartmut/RENNTECH's close ties to AMG and the role he plays in the American chapter of AMG lore, I thought this 'Fiends article might be very appropriate on the RENNTECH news blog.

For those not "in the know", AMG's Hammer was a run-of-the-mill 300E with a 5.6-liter 4 valve V8 under its hood. This combination could achieve 60 mph in a tick over 5 seconds, run the quarter-mile in 13.5 seconds on its way to a terminal velocity of 186 mph - faster than the contemporary Porsche 928, Aston Vantage, Ferrari Testarossa, and Lambo Countach ... and AMG's Hammer started every time.
